The Bones That Make Us Lovely
Ok so I don’t excatly know where to begin with this book. Out of all the book I’ve ever read in my life this one has to be the most confusing one. The Lovely Bones which is now also a motion picture, is the story about a teenage girl who get’s raped and murdered and watches from heaven as her family and friends cope with the fact that she’s dead and how they go on with their lives. As she herself tries to come to terms with her own death.
I think the only reason it was confusing for me is because of the artistic description and views but other then that the book itself kind of dragged. Don’t get me wrong it is a best selling novel and it was a good book but there was a lot that could’ve been cut out. Now in my honest opinion I do recommend the book but you’ll be wasting your time with the movie. The movie came out this year on January 15, 2010, I did see it after I read the book and I was really disappointed. I thought it went by way to quick like the director wanted the movie to end already, it went from one thing to another and I know I said in the book it dragged a little but they could’ve at least not have made it seem so effortless. Yet I have to say in some parts of the movie, I did understand some of the stuff I didn’t in the book.
Overall, I recommend the book to anyone over the age of 13 because it involves some descriptive things. I would love to hear some comments and thoughts about the book if anyone has any. You can still watch The Lovely Bones in theaters, yet I believe it will be on dvd real soon. Maybe someone will actually like it, but it is a waste of your time. So I give the book a 6 out of 10 and the movie a 4 out of 10. Please go read the book
