Samuel Bayer directs this remake of Wes Craven’s 1984 horror film “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”

The film stars Jackie Earle Hayley as the dream-invading serial killer, Freddy Krueger. Other supporting actors include Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, and Kellan Lutz.

I’m excited that most of the film was shot in Chicago. I could have been an extra in the film but I found about casting calls a few days late.

I honestly don’t have to many high hopes for the film. I’m not familiar with Samuel Bayer’s directing apart from his work on Music Videos. Many of the actors are up and coming talent, including “Twilight” actor Kellan Lutz and “Haunting in Connecticut” star Kyle Gallner. It’s a re-make, and many remakes of what I consider to be classic or iconic films end up becoming complete fails. But who knows, this could be different.
