Sherlock Holmes Review

It is safe to say they are widely popular characters, given that there have been more than 200 films based off Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. With so many movies, you would think repetition would be an issue, but with a detective character like Holmes, the possibilities are seemingly endless. Guy Ritchie directs the film and this time around Homes and Watson are played by Robert Downy Jr. and Jude Law. Rachel McAdams Costars as Holmes’ old flame, the “dangerously alluring” Irene Adler. I really enjoyed the movie. It was fast paced and suspenseful, the kind of film that keeps you at the edge of your seat. It also has the ideal amount of quick wit and humor, enjoyable without dousing the film to its death. The “peas in a pod” relationship between Holmes and Watson makes it fun and interesting; along with the unraveling mystery it compels the film forward. I highly recommend it, and I’m hanging on to hope of a sequel.
