Tuesday December 8th, Los Angeles-30 Seconds to Mars’ 3rd studio album “This is War” is released. The band will sign autographs at “The Hive” in celebration of the release. Fans anxiously wait in line for the arrival of the band.

Same Day, Chicago: We wait anxiously for the arrival of the email that will contain the link to the live private video chat with the band, strictly for those who pre-ordered a copy of “This is War” at their official website. After hours of anticipation, the link arrives. A few hours later, the chat begins.

The chat is set up as a live video stream where viewers can type questions in an IM message board and watch the band respond in the video. Meanwhile the band is also answering questions that have been submitted by those who pre-ordered the 30 seconds to mars photo book.

There were 300 people in the chat, IM’s shooting past nearly impossible for the band to read. Jared Leto, the Frontman of the band urges viewers to slow down typing so they can answer a few questions. Out of the hundreds of comments and questions….the band read and commented on four of our’s:

Lilly typed “Hi Tomo” while all the other viewers were trying to get Jared and Shannon’s attention. A few seconds later, Tomo reads what Lilly wrote and then says ” Hi” back.

Seraphina takes notice of Shannon staring up at the ceiling and dully staring at the laptop in front of them (where they view our comments). She types: “Shannon looks bored.” In the middle of answering another question Jared gets distracted and reads Seraphina’s comment out loud. Shannon then says, “I’m not bored, I’m just tired.” As he then proceeds to act over-exaggeratedly bored, tired, and even dead.

Lilly types “Why does Jared Scream in all his songs?” Jared gets distracted in the middle of answering another question and answers: “I scream in all my songs because I cant sing.” He then looks straight into the camera, completely straight faced before laughing.

After that, just for fun we typed a stupid question that we didn’t expect an answer too. “Can Lilly have Jared’s left sock?” To our surprise, Shannon asked Jared the question out loud and Jared answered “NO you cannot have my sock.”

All in all, the video chat was much fun and we were so excited to get that kind of interaction from the band. Thanks 30 Seconds To Mars for doing that for the fans, and everyone be sure to buy, “This Is War”here at our store. It is an amazing album, review coming soon!
