Ingram Hill Interview

Justin Moore and Phil Bogard of Ingram Hill

Justin Moore and Phil Bogard of Ingram Hill

Have you ever been to Ingram Hill? Okay, so Ingram Hill isn’t really a PLACE. It’s more like a feeling, a sound, a vibe. It’s a band. It’s a really cool band. If you like that southern sound, and you like to shake your booty, then you’ll like Ingram Hill, and you’ll like going there.

Check out the interview we got with the lead vocalist: Justin Moore.

Amber: The music is great, this kind of sound doesn’t happen over night, how did you guys get together?

Justin: Well thanks for the compliment. I wish I could say we all came from the same musical background, but other than all growing up in Memphis , we’re all totally different musically. That said, I’ve known Phil since Kindergarten, and we both went to elementary school with our original bass player, and I met Matt in college.

Amber: How long have you been together?

Justin: 9 whopping years

Amber: What are some of the bands and individual members musical influences?

Justin: I think the Black Crowes and Tonic have been big influences on the entire band. As far as individually, I can just speak for myself. I grew up listening to a lot of Tom Petty, Elton John, and Elvis Presley. That still kinda rings true today.

Amber: As far as future shows go, do you plan to keep doing smaller shows or move on to bigger venues?

Justin: We will play whatever size venues that our fans will fill. We don’t discriminate towards either.

Amber: What is your favorite thing about being on tour and your favorite thing about being off tour?

Justin: It’s something new everyday. Although you find ways to get in a routine, the city, venue, and people always change, so it makes it exciting. The best thing about being off tour is seeing my family and sleeping in my own bed.

Amber: What’s the thing you most often forget to pack when you go on the road?

Justin: I’m an over-packer, so I tend to not forget anything. I bring way too much stuff.

Amber: If you had to throw out all of your cds, only keeping one, which one would you keep?

Justin: Probably Elvis 30 number ones

Amber: Do you notice that your fan base has grown a lot over the years? What’s the craziest fan encounter you’ve ever had?

Justin: I have noticed that. I think the craziest thing was when a fan just walked into my house and knocked on my bedroom door, while I was the only one home. We started locking our doors after that.

Amber: What’s the greatest thing that you hope you guys will accomplish on this road that you call ingram hill?

Justin: World domination
